KYC Privacy Notice
How identity and verification information is handled when HomeofIndia uses KYC or account-verification features.
1. Purpose of verification
HomeofIndia may use KYC or identity verification to improve account safety, reduce impersonation and fraud, and determine whether an account has completed verification steps required for selected platform features.
2. Information involved
Depending on the verification method, information may include your name, date of birth, address, identity-document type/number, document image or file, verification status, submission/review timestamps and related verification records. HomeofIndia should collect only information reasonably necessary for the verification method being used.
3. KYC documents are not public
KYC documents are not intended to appear on public property listings or public profiles. Public verification indicators, if used, should communicate only the relevant verification status and should not expose the underlying identity document.
4. Access controls
Access to KYC information should be limited to authorised personnel and necessary verification/service providers. KYC document access should be logged where practical. Public direct access to stored KYC files should be blocked, and documents should be served only through authorised access controls.
5. Security
HomeofIndia uses or should use reasonable safeguards such as authenticated access, role-based permissions, restricted document storage, unpredictable filenames, file-type validation, security logging and backups protected from public access. No system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Retention
KYC information should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for verification, fraud prevention, security, disputes and applicable legal requirements. When no longer required, information should be securely deleted or anonymised as appropriate.
7. Verification providers
If HomeofIndia uses a third-party identity or verification provider, relevant information may be shared with that provider to perform the requested verification. The provider may process information under its own privacy terms in addition to HomeofIndia’s arrangements with it. The actual provider used should be disclosed in the verification flow where appropriate.
8. Your requests
Subject to applicable law and retention requirements, you may use HomeofIndia’s privacy request process to ask about, correct or request deletion of verification-related personal data. A deletion request does not necessarily require deletion of information that HomeofIndia is lawfully required or permitted to retain for another purpose.
