Request Account Deletion
Understand the HomeofIndia deletion process, what may be deleted or anonymised, and what limited records may need to be retained.
1. Verification before deletion
We may require you to sign in again, confirm your registered email/mobile number, or complete another reasonable verification step before processing a deletion request. This helps prevent unauthorised deletion of another person’s account.
2. What the deletion workflow may include
A request may move through receipt, verification, review and completion stages. Where appropriate, HomeofIndia may disable account access, remove public profile/listing associations, delete data that is no longer required, and anonymise records that need to remain for operational, statistical, security or legal reasons.
3. Listings, bookings and messages
Deletion may affect active listings, booking history, favorites, alerts and messaging access. Before requesting deletion, Owners should resolve active listing or booking matters and Tenants should retain any records they independently need for a lawful transaction or dispute. HomeofIndia may preserve limited transaction, moderation or dispute records where reasonably necessary.
4. KYC and verification records
KYC documents and verification records should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for their purpose and applicable requirements. Where a deletion request is completed, HomeofIndia should delete or anonymise KYC information that no longer needs to be retained, while preserving only limited records where there is a lawful security, fraud-prevention, dispute or compliance need.
5. Records that may be retained
Limited records may be retained where reasonably necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud and abuse prevention, grievance handling, dispute resolution, enforcement, accounting where applicable, or demonstrating important account/consent actions. Retained records should remain access-controlled and should not be used for unrelated purposes.
6. Alerts and future communications
After completion, optional property alerts and routine account communications should stop for the deleted account, except where a message is reasonably necessary to complete the deletion request, address a legal/security matter or confirm the outcome.
7. Re-registration
After deletion, creating a new HomeofIndia account may be treated as a new registration and may require verification again. Data from a deleted account may not be recoverable or automatically restored.
8. Start a deletion request
Use the Data & Privacy Request form with the email address or mobile number associated with your account. The request type will be preselected. If you are signed in and HomeofIndia provides a role-specific deletion workflow, you may also use that account deletion control.
